Iowa City, Iowa

Iowa City, which also includes Coralville, had three railroads. The Cedar Rapids & Iowa City (which still exists in its entirety) ran through town.
In addition, the Rock Island had a line across Iowa running through the town, and a branch to Riverside. Only the mainline exists as Iowa Interstate. Part of the branch exists as CR&IC.
Iowa City was the second of three capitols of the state of Iowa. The capitol building still exists off of Iowa Street and Capitol Street.
